Civiek

Civiek is a city and regional capital in the fictional nation of Norda. It lies in the eastern plains near the Vel River and serves as the administrative center for the surrounding province of Lyria. As of 2023, the population is around 135,000.

The name Civiek is derived from the Lyran word civiek meaning "junction" or "meeting place," reflecting its historical function as a crossroads for trade routes.

The city sits on the Vel River, with rolling farmland and oak woodlands to the north, and a temperate climate with warm summers and cold, snowy winters.

Established in the 11th century as a market settlement, Civiek gained municipal rights in the 13th century and expanded with the arrival of the railway in 1872. In the postwar era it grew into a regional logistics and manufacturing hub.

Civiek has a diversified economy centered on logistics, transportation, and services. Major employers include the Civiek Logistics Hub and the Civiek University research park. The city is served by Central Station, highways A1 and A9, a ring road, and a small tram network.

The Old Town preserves medieval street plans and buildings. The city hosts an annual Civiek Festival celebrating civic life. The population is multilingual, with Lyran and Nordish speakers most common.
