Ciconian
Ciconian refers to the inhabitants of Ciconia, an ancient region located in Thrace, the southeastern part of the Balkans. The Cicones were a Thracian tribe known for their martial prowess and involvement in early Greek mythology. They are most famously mentioned in Homer's Odyssey, where Odysseus and his men encounter them after their departure from Troy. In this account, Odysseus sacks their city Ismarus, but his men become drunk and are subsequently attacked by the Ciconians, resulting in significant losses for the Greeks.
