Chorittel

Chorittel is a pharmaceutical drug used as a coagulant in the treatment of bleeding disorders. It is a type of heparin inhibitor that works by reversing the anticoagulant effects of heparin, thereby helping to stop bleeding.

Chorittel contains a combination of protamine sulfate and heparinase, which are administered together to counteract the anticoagulant effects of heparin. This is particularly useful in situations where bleeding cannot be controlled by other means, such as surgery or trauma.

The recommended dosage of Chorittel is typically 1-2 mg/kg administered by intravenous injection. The product should be diluted with 50 mL of sterile water for injection before administration to prevent a rapid increase in protamine concentration.

Chorittel is also used in the treatment of hypotension associated with heparin therapy. In this context, the protamine component of the drug helps to raise blood pressure.

In the United States, Chorittel is approved by the FDA for use in treating acute, life-threatening bleeding events associated with heparin therapy. However, it is not approved for routine prophylaxis or the treatment of minor bleeding episodes.

Clinical studies on Chorittel have shown it to be effective in reversing the anticoagulant effects of heparin. However, as with all medications, there is a risk of adverse reactions, including hypotension, bradycardia, and headache.

As with any medication, caution should be exercised when administering Chorittel, particularly in patients with cardiovascular disease or chronic renal insufficiency.
