Chinua

Chinua is a masculine given name of Igbo origin, used among the Igbo people of southeastern Nigeria and in diaspora communities. The name is most closely associated with Albert Chinualumogu Achebe, who is commonly known simply as Chinua Achebe, a Nigerian novelist, poet, and critic who helped popularize African literature in the English language.

Chinua Achebe (1930–2013) is the best-known bearer of the name. His work is celebrated for its blend of traditional storytelling with modern narrative techniques and for its incisive treatment of colonialism, cultural change, and post-colonial identity.
