Channelling, often spelled channeling in American English, is a term used in several distinct fields to describe directing, guiding, or conveying something through a channel or pathway. The specific meaning varies by context, and there is no single underlying concept.

In spiritualist and paranormal contexts, channelling refers to a practice in which a person, called a channel or medium, attempts to communicate with non-physical beings, such as spirits, deities, or higher guidance. Techniques include trance states, automatic writing, or conscious dialogue, with messages presented as guidance, wisdom, or revelation. The practice is controversial; claims of verifiable communication are not supported by mainstream science, and interpretations often reflect the channeler’s perspective.

In crystallography and materials science, channeling denotes the phenomenon whereby charged particles travel along crystallographic directions with reduced scattering, affecting ion implantation depth and radiation damage.
