Centercorneal

Centercorneal refers to a condition characterized by the presence of a central opacity or scar in the cornea, the transparent front surface of the eye. This opacity can significantly impair vision, causing symptoms such as blurred vision, glare, and halos around lights. The exact cause of centercorneal is not fully understood, but it is often associated with previous eye injuries, infections, or other corneal disorders.

Centercorneal can be classified into two main types: primary and secondary. Primary centercorneal is the most common form and typically occurs in young adults, often without a clear antecedent cause. Secondary centercorneal, on the other hand, is associated with a previous injury or infection, such as a corneal abrasion, ulcer, or herpes simplex virus infection.

Diagnosis of centercorneal usually involves a comprehensive eye examination, including slit-lamp microscopy, to visualize the corneal opacity. Treatment options vary depending on the severity of the condition and the underlying cause. Mild cases may resolve spontaneously over time, while more severe cases may require surgical intervention, such as corneal transplantation, to restore clear vision.
