Cementproduktionen refers to the industrial process of manufacturing cement, a binding agent essential for constructing concrete. The primary raw materials are typically limestone and clay, which are quarried and then crushed into a fine powder. This mixture is heated in a kiln at extremely high temperatures, around 1450 degrees Celsius, causing a chemical transformation known as clinkerization. The resulting clinker, small nodules of fused materials, is then cooled and ground into a fine powder. Gypsum is usually added during the grinding process to control the setting time of the cement.
The production process can be broadly categorized into wet and dry methods, with the dry method being
