Cemenii

The Cemenii were an ancient Celtic tribe who inhabited a region of what is now northeastern Scotland. Their territory was roughly equivalent to the modern counties of Banff and Aberdeenshire, extending along the coast of the Moray Firth. Information about the Cemenii is primarily derived from the writings of Roman geographers, most notably Ptolemy, who listed them as one of the tribes inhabiting Caledonia.

The exact period of their prominence is difficult to pinpoint, but they are believed to have existed as a distinct tribal entity during the Roman occupation of Britain and into the early medieval period, before eventually being absorbed into the broader Pictish identity.
