Catharticularins

Catharticularins are a group of natural compounds belonging to the anthraquinone family. They are primarily found in plants of the genus Senna, which is widely used in traditional medicine for its laxative properties. The primary known effect of catharticularins is their role as purgatives. Upon ingestion, they are metabolized in the colon by gut bacteria into active compounds.
