Canadianborn

Canadianborn is a descriptive term for a person who was born within the borders of Canada. It is commonly used to distinguish those born in Canada from individuals born elsewhere, including the foreign-born or those who later acquired Canadian citizenship through naturalization. The spelling Canadian-born (with a hyphen) is also widely used, though both forms appear in various contexts.

Legal status: In Canadian law, birth in Canada generally confers Canadian citizenship by birth, a principle known as jus soli. There are exceptions, notably children born in Canada to foreign diplomats, for whom birth does not automatically confer citizenship.
