Camshaped

Camshaped refers to a design or profile that resembles a cam. A cam is a rotating or sliding machine element that converts linear or rotational motion into a predetermined, often irregular, output motion. The shape of the cam is critical in determining the output motion. Therefore, a "camshaped" object or feature possesses a contour that is specifically designed to interact with a follower mechanism to produce a particular movement pattern. This shape is typically not a simple geometric form like a circle or square, but rather an engineered curve.
