CVprofilering is the practice of shaping and presenting a curriculum vitae (CV) to emphasize the aspects of a candidate’s background that are most relevant to a particular job, sector or audience. The goal is to make qualifications, skills and accomplishments easier for recruiters or automated systems to recognize and to increase the likelihood of selection for interview stages.

Common techniques include tailoring content to job descriptions, prioritizing relevant work experience and skills, using industry-specific keywords to pass applicant tracking systems (ATS), quantifying achievements with measurable results, and arranging information in a clear, scannable format. CVprofilering can be manual—where a candidate rewrites sections for each application—or supported by tools that analyze job postings and suggest edits.

Benefits of CVprofilering include improved clarity, stronger alignment between applicant and role, higher interview rates and more efficient screening. However, it raises ethical and practical concerns: overstating responsibilities or outcomes can lead to credibility loss, while algorithmic profiling can introduce biases or disadvantage candidates whose experience does not match standardized patterns.
