CSUS

CSUS, commonly known as Sac State, is a public university in Sacramento, California. It is part of the California State University system, one of the largest public university systems in the United States.

Founded in 1947 as Sacramento State College, CSUS offers undergraduate and graduate programs across several colleges, including arts and letters; business; education; engineering and computer science; health and human services; natural sciences and mathematics; and social sciences and interdisciplinary studies.

The university enrolls about 30,000 students and operates on a campus of roughly 300 acres.

CSUS is accredited by WASC and houses research centers such as the Center for California Studies and the Institute for Social Research. The campus includes facilities for teaching, research, and student life. The student newspaper is The State Hornet.

Athletics: The Sacramento State Hornets compete in NCAA Division I as part of the Big Sky Conference, with programs in several sports. The school colors are green and gold, and the mascot is the hornet.
