COVID19remdesivir refers to the use of the antiviral drug remdesivir in the treatment of COVID-19. Remdesivir is a nucleoside analog that inhibits viral RNA polymerase, an enzyme essential for viral replication. It was initially developed for treating other viral infections like Ebola and hepatitis C.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, remdesivir was one of the first antiviral medications to receive emergency use authorization and later full approval in some countries for treating hospitalized patients with COVID-19.
