CDROMbaserede refers to content or software that is distributed and accessed via a Compact Disc Read-Only Memory (CD-ROM). This technology was a popular medium for distributing applications, games, encyclopedias, and multimedia content during the late 20th and early 21st centuries before the widespread adoption of the internet and digital downloads.

CD-ROMs offered a significantly larger storage capacity compared to floppy disks, allowing for more complex software and richer multimedia experiences. This led to the development of interactive encyclopedias, educational programs, and graphically intensive games that were previously not feasible. The ease of mass production also made CD-ROMs a cost-effective way for companies to distribute software to a wide audience.

Accessing CDROMbaserede content required a computer equipped with a CD-ROM drive. Users would insert the disc, and the software or data would be read directly from the optical media. While convenient for its time, this method had limitations, including relatively slow data transfer speeds compared to modern storage and the inability to easily update content once it was pressed onto the disc.
