CBDT
The Central Board of Direct Taxes, commonly known as the CBDT, is a statutory board constituted under the Central Boards of Revenue Act, 1963. It functions under the Department of Revenue in the Ministry of Finance, Government of India. The CBDT is the apex body for direct tax administration in India, responsible for the formulation of policy and planning in relation to direct taxes and also for the administration of direct tax laws through the Income Tax Department.
