Bécquer
Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer was a Spanish poet and writer, born in Seville in 1836. He is considered one of the most important figures of Spanish Romanticism. Bécquer's childhood was marked by the loss of his parents, and he was raised by his godfather, a painter. He moved to Madrid in his youth, where he pursued a literary career, although he also worked as a journalist and briefly as a censor.
Bécquer is most famous for his collection of poems, Rimas, and his collection of prose tales, Leyendas.
