Buynaksky

Buynaksky is a city in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia. It serves as the administrative center of Buynaksky District. The city is situated in the southeastern part of the republic, near the Kuma River, approximately 188 kilometers southeast of Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan.

Founded in the early 20th century, Buynaksky developed as a settlement during the expansion of the railway network and agricultural development in the region. Over time, it grew into a modest urban center, primarily serving as an administrative and industrial hub for surrounding rural areas.
