Brüttoplam

Brüttoplam, also known as Brüttoplam Glacier, is a glacier located in the Bernese Alps in Switzerland. It is situated in the southern part of the canton of Bern, near the border with the canton of Valais. The glacier is part of the Jungfrau-Aletsch region, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its stunning alpine landscapes and diverse ecosystems.

The term "Brüttoplam" is derived from the Alemannic German dialect and can be translated to "brutal ice" or "rough ice," reflecting the glacier's rugged and harsh environment. The glacier is fed by the accumulation of snow and ice from the surrounding peaks, including the Bruttenhorn and the Schreckhorn. It flows down the valley, eventually merging with other glaciers to form the Aletsch Glacier, the largest glacier in the Alps.
