Bryozoologists

Bryozoologists are scientists who study bryozoans, also known as moss animals. These are small, aquatic invertebrates that form colonies. Bryozoans are found in marine and freshwater environments worldwide, in a wide range of habitats from shallow coastal waters to the deep sea. They are sessile organisms, meaning they attach themselves to surfaces like rocks, shells, and seaweed, and filter feed on small particles from the water.

Their fossil record is extensive, making them valuable indicators of past environmental conditions and aiding in the dating of rock formations.
