Breuckelen

Breuckelen (also spelled Breuckelyn or Breukelen) is a historic Dutch colonial settlement on western Long Island, now part of the New York City borough of Brooklyn. It was founded in the 1640s by Dutch West India Company colonists and named after Breukelen in the Netherlands. It grew as a cluster of farming villages with ferry connections to New Amsterdam (Manhattan).
