Breitling is a Swiss luxury watchmaker founded in 1884 by Léon Breitling. The company is known for its focus on chronographs and its close association with aviation. Breitling watches are often characterized by their robust construction, legible dials, and advanced features, particularly those related to timekeeping and aviation navigation.

Léon Breitling established his first workshop in Saint-Imier, Switzerland, focusing on precision chronographs and stopwatches. His son, Gaston Breitling, and grandson, Willy Breitling, continued the company's legacy, introducing innovations like the first wrist chronograph with a separate pusher for start/stop functions. Breitling gained significant recognition for its role in providing instruments to the aviation industry, developing watches with features such as slide rules for flight calculations.

The Navitimer, launched in 1952, is one of Breitling's most iconic models. It features a circular slide rule that allows pilots to perform various flight calculations. Another significant collection is the Chronomat, originally designed for the Breitling Jet Team. Breitling has also produced watches for military and professional use, further solidifying its reputation for reliability and performance.
