Bregor

Bregor is a character from J.R.R. Tolkien's legendarium, appearing in The Silmarillion and other posthumously published works. He was a Man, a descendant of Hador, and the eldest son of Bregolas. Bregor belonged to the House of Hador, one of the three great Houses of the Edain, who were the Men who allied with the Elves against the Dark Lord Morgoth.

Bregor was the father of two sons, Bregalad and Bregor, and also of a daughter, Bregor. He is primarily known for his role in the early history of the Edain in Beleriand. During the First Age, Bregor lived in the region of Bregan, which was named after him. He was a staunch defender of his people and a loyal ally of the Elves, particularly of the Noldor.

His lineage connects him to significant figures in the history of Middle-earth. Bregor's brother was Barahir, the father of Beren. This makes Bregor an uncle to the legendary hero Beren, who was instrumental in the quest for a Silmaril. Bregor's lineage is noted for its strength and endurance, qualities often associated with the Men of the House of Hador. His descendants, like his grandson Huor and great-grandson Tuor, played crucial roles in the downfall of Morgoth and the eventual flourishing of the Elves and Men. Bregor's story, though not as central as others, highlights the interconnectedness of the great families and their contributions to the long struggle against darkness in the First Age.
