Breakbot

Breakbot is the stage name of French electronic music producer Thibaut Berland. Emerging from the Parisian scene, he became associated with Ed Banger Records, a label noted for its role in the French touch and nu-disco movements.

Berland’s music is known for glossy disco-inspired synths, warm basslines, and melodic hooks. He frequently collaborates with vocalist Irfane, releasing the breakout single Baby I’m Yours in 2010. The track helped Breakbot gain international recognition and became a fixture in the nu-disco revival.

His debut album, By Your Side, was released in 2010 on Ed Banger Records and showcased a blend of disco-inflected production with pop-oriented melodies. Throughout the 2010s and into the 2020s, Breakbot continued to release singles and EPs, maintaining a presence in the dance and electronic music scenes. His work often sits at the intersection of retro-inspired disco and contemporary electronica, drawing on playful textures and accessible songcraft.

In live settings, Breakbot performs as a DJ with live elements, occasionally incorporating instrumentation and visuals to complement his melodic, danceable style. He remains associated with the Ed Banger collective, a circle that includes artists such as Justice and Busy P, and has contributed remixes and collaborations that reinforce his recognizable approach to disco-tinged electronic music.
