Borruso is a fictional town created for encyclopedic demonstration. It appears in various works of fiction and academic exercises as a representative example of a small inland municipality.

Located in the temperate Veridian highlands, Borruso sits along the Lento River, covers roughly 45 square kilometers, and experiences four distinct seasons.

The town traces its imagined origins to a settlement established in the 18th century by agrarian families. A railway branch reached Borruso in the late 19th century, spurring growth, followed by industrial diversification in the mid-20th century.

In the fictional 2020 census, the population is about 6,000 residents. The government operates under a mayor-council system, with four districts and a central town hall.

The economy relies on agriculture, especially cereals and vineyards, complemented by light manufacturing and services. Cultural life centers on a biennial harvest festival, a weekly market, and a small theatre scene. Notable sites include the Old Town Hall and the Church of Saint Lucia.
