Borealtemperate is a term describing a transitional climate-vegetation zone between boreal taiga and temperate forests. It is not a formal biome in standard classifications, but a useful label for areas where boreal and temperate elements co-occur or grade into one another.

Geographically, it occurs where the southern edge of boreal forests meets more temperate landscapes, including parts of northern Europe, Siberia, and North America. The climate typically features cold winters and cool to warm summers, with precipitation that supports mixed coniferous and deciduous stands.

Vegetation is a mosaic of boreal conifers and temperate broadleaf trees. Species such as spruce or pine may grow beside birch, aspen, maple, or alder, with stands showing varying degrees of transition between the two biomes. Soils range from acidic, podzol-like horizons to more fertile pockets where temperate species dominate.

Ecology is shaped by disturbance regimes common to both zones, including fire and insect outbreaks, and by moisture availability. The zone supports diverse fauna that utilize habitats created by both forest types.
