Bobbysocks

Bobbysocks! is a Norwegian pop duo formed in 1981 by Hanne Krogh and Elisabeth Andreassen. The pair became known for bright, catchy pop with schlager influences and for representing Norway in international music competitions. In 1985, Bobbysocks! won the Eurovision Song Contest in Gothenburg with the Norwegian-language track “La det swinge” (Let It Swing). Their victory marked Norway’s first win in the contest and helped bring attention to Norwegian pop music in wider Europe, contributing to a broader interest in Nordic acts within Eurovision.

The duo released several albums and singles during the 1980s and continued to perform together in various capacities in the years that followed. Their Eurovision success is widely regarded as a milestone in Norway’s participation in the contest and a notable moment in the country’s pop music history.
