Blütenanordnungen, also known as inflorescences, are the arrangements of flowers on a plant stem. These arrangements are diverse and can vary greatly between different species, playing a role in pollination and seed dispersal.

Inflorescences can be classified into two main types: racemose and cymose. Racemose inflorescences have a main axis that grows indefinitely and produces flowers laterally, with the oldest flowers at the base and youngest at the tip. Examples include spikes, racemes, and corymbs. Cymose inflorescences, on the other hand, have a main axis that terminates in a flower, with subsequent flowers developing from lateral buds. These are typically shorter-lived and can be further divided into monochasial and dichasial types, depending on how the branches develop.

Other forms of Blütenanordnungen exist, such as capitula (flower heads) found in the Asteraceae family (e.g., sunflowers and daisies), where many small flowers are clustered together on a flattened receptacle. Spadices, common in Arecaceae (palms) and Araceae (aroids), are fleshy spikes often surrounded by a spathe, a modified leaf.
