Bioüzemanyagkeverékek, or biofuel blends, refer to mixtures of conventional fossil fuels and biofuels. These blends are used to reduce the reliance on fossil fuels and decrease greenhouse gas emissions in the transportation sector. The most common biofuels used in blends are ethanol and biodiesel. Ethanol, typically derived from sources like corn, sugarcane, or wheat, is often blended with gasoline. Common blends include E10 (10% ethanol, 90% gasoline) and E85 (85% ethanol, 15% gasoline). E10 is widely used in many countries and is generally compatible with most modern gasoline engines. E85 requires a flexible-fuel vehicle (FFV) capable of running on higher ethanol concentrations.
