Biodieselfuelled
Biodieselfuelled is a term used to describe engines, vehicles, or systems powered by biodiesel or biodiesel blends derived from biological oils or fats. Biodiesel is produced by a chemical process called transesterification, which converts fats or oils into fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) and glycerol. Common feedstocks include vegetable oils such as soybean, rapeseed, and palm, as well as animal fats and recycled cooking oil.
Most modern diesel engines can operate on biodiesel blends from about B2 to B20 without significant modification.
Environmental and sustainability considerations are central to biodiesel use. Lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions are typically lower
Regulation and standards provide the framework for production and use. In the United States, standards such
