Bhaal

Bhaal is a fictional deity prominent in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting of Dungeons & Dragons. He is known as the Lord of Murder, the God of Death, and the Prince of Lies. Bhaal is a malevolent entity, embodying the primal urge for violence, bloodshed, and chaos. His followers are typically assassins, murderers, and those who revel in wanton destruction.

Originally part of the Dead Three, a trio of evil gods alongside Bane and Myrkul, Bhaal was instrumental in many of the world's historical conflicts and tragedies. His divine essence was shattered and scattered across the planes after his supposed death, but fragments of his power and influence have persisted. This scattering led to the rise of various "Bhaalspawn," individuals who inherited a portion of his divine power, often manifesting as extraordinary, albeit dangerous, talents.

The worship of Bhaal is clandestine and feared. His temples are often hidden in shadowy places or disguised as innocuous structures. Rituals associated with Bhaal typically involve sacrifice, often of innocent lives, to appease the god and channel his destructive energies. His symbol is a skull with a bloody dagger plunged through its eye socket. Despite his absence as a fully formed deity for extended periods, the cult of Bhaal and the lingering influence of his scattered essence continue to pose a significant threat to the mortal realms.
