Betonirunko refers to a cast-in-place concrete structural system commonly used in building construction, particularly in Finland and other Nordic countries. The term translates directly from Finnish to "concrete frame" or "concrete skeleton." This construction method involves forming the building's load-bearing elements, such as columns, beams, and slabs, using poured concrete. The concrete is poured into temporary molds, known as formwork, which define the shape of the structural components. Once the concrete hardens and gains sufficient strength, the formwork is removed, leaving behind the solid concrete structure.
