Betaglykosidické refers to the type of glycosidic bond in which the anomeric carbon of a monosaccharide is linked to another molecule through a beta-configuration. Glycosidic bonds are covalent linkages that join a carbohydrate molecule to another group. In the case of glycosides, this other group is often non-carbohydrate, known as the aglycone. The anomeric carbon is the carbon atom in a monosaccharide that is part of the hemiacetal or hemiketal group. Its configuration, whether alpha (α) or beta (β), is determined by the orientation of the substituent on this carbon relative to the ring.
