Bensiiniruiskutus

Bensiiniruiskutus, also known as gasoline injection or petrol injection, is a fuel delivery system used in internal combustion engines. It replaces older carburetor systems by injecting fuel directly into the engine's intake manifold or combustion chamber. This precise delivery of fuel allows for more efficient combustion, leading to improved fuel economy and reduced emissions.

There are several types of bensiiniruiskutus systems. Port fuel injection (PFI) injects fuel into the intake port just before the intake valve. This is a common and relatively simple system. Direct injection (DI) injects fuel directly into the combustion chamber. This method offers even greater control over the fuel-air mixture and can lead to further improvements in performance and efficiency, though it is often more complex.

The transition from carburetors to bensiiniruiskutus was driven by increasingly stringent emissions regulations and the demand for better fuel efficiency.
