Beläggningsmetall refers to a metal that is applied as a thin layer onto the surface of another material. This process, known as coating or plating, is employed for a variety of reasons, including enhancing the appearance, improving the corrosion resistance, increasing wear resistance, or providing electrical conductivity. The deposited metal can be the same as the base material or a different one, chosen for its specific properties.
