Belizeans are the citizens and nationals of Belize, a Central American nation on the Caribbean coast. The population is a diverse blend of ethnic groups, a result of Belize's unique history as a British colony and its proximity to Spanish-speaking Central American countries. The largest ethnic group is the Mestizo, individuals of mixed Maya and Spanish ancestry.
