Bejovar

Bejovar is a city and municipal seat in the fictional nation of Varundia, located on the northern coast along the Bejoyean Bay. It sits at the estuary of the river Cinar and is bordered by evergreen hills to the west and tidal flats to the south. The city’s climate is temperate, with wet winters and relatively dry summers.

As of the latest estimates, Bejovar has a population around 37,000. The community is ethnically diverse, with speakers of Bejovari as the majority language and smaller groups speaking neighboring regional languages. The town serves as the regional government center.

The economy historically depended on fishing and shipbuilding; today it combines seafood processing, light manufacturing, logistics, and a growing service sector tied to tourism and the harbor. The Bejovar Port is a multipurpose facility handling cargo and passenger ferries.

Bejovar was founded in the 12th century by settlers from the Varin tribes and grew as a trading hub during the medieval era. It became an urban center in the early modern period and expanded public services in the 19th and 20th centuries. The city is governed by a mayor and a 12-member city council within a framework of regional governance.

Culturally, Bejovar hosts an annual Sea Festival and maintains a historic Market Quarter, the Bejovar Lighthouse, and the University of Bejovar’s regional campus. Local cuisine emphasizes smoked fish and sea greens. Public education is provided by a four-tier system, including primary schools, a secondary school, and the university campus.
