Bedformaat is a term used in furniture and interior design to describe the size and proportions of a bed, primarily the dimensions of the mattress and the corresponding bed frame. The formaat reflects regional conventions and influences which mattresses, bases, and bedding are compatible. In practice, it denotes the width and length of the sleeping surface, and may include notes on frame height or bed rail tolerance.

In Europe, common bedmaten include 90x200 cm (single), 120x200 cm (semi-double), 140x200 cm (double), 160x200 cm (queen), and 180x200 cm (king). Shorter or longer variants such as 90x210 cm, 140x210 cm, or 180x210 cm are also found to accommodate taller sleepers or specific room layouts. In other regions, such as the United States, sizes are expressed in inches, with typical equivalents like twin (38x75 in), full (54x75 in), queen (60x80 in), and king (76x80 in). International markets thus differ in exact measurements, even when aiming to describe similar sleeping surfaces.
