Battlestars are a fictional class of capital spaceship featured prominently in the science fiction franchise *Battlestar Galactica*. These massive warships are designed for prolonged combat and serve as the primary defensive force for the Twelve Colonies of Kobol. The most iconic battlestar is the *Galactica*, a veteran vessel from the First Cylon War.

Battlestars are characterized by their distinctive arrowhead shape, heavy armament, and the capacity to carry and launch numerous Viper fighter craft.
