Batterikapaciteten

Batterikapaciteten refers to the amount of electrical charge a battery can store and deliver. It is typically measured in ampere-hours (Ah) or milliampere-hours (mAh). A higher ampere-hour rating indicates that a battery can supply a certain current for a longer period. For example, a 10 Ah battery can theoretically supply 1 ampere of current for 10 hours, or 2 amperes for 5 hours, and so on.

The capacity of a battery is not a fixed value and can be influenced by several factors. Temperature plays a significant role; batteries generally have lower capacities at very low or very high temperatures. The rate at which the battery is discharged also affects its usable capacity, a phenomenon known as Peukert's law. Discharging a battery faster than its rated capacity can result in a lower delivered capacity than indicated by its ampere-hour rating.

Battery capacity is a crucial specification for understanding how long a device will operate on a single charge. It is a primary consideration when choosing batteries for various applications, from portable electronics like smartphones and laptops to electric vehicles and energy storage systems. Manufacturers provide capacity ratings, but it's important to remember these are often under ideal conditions and real-world performance may vary. Over time, as a battery ages and undergoes charge-discharge cycles, its capacity will gradually decrease, a process known as degradation.
