Bathysaurus

Bathysaurus is a genus of extinct marine reptiles that lived during the Late Triassic period, approximately 230 million years ago. The genus is known from a single species, Bathysaurus ferreri, which was discovered in the United States. Bathysaurus is one of the earliest known marine reptiles and is considered to be a transitional form between terrestrial reptiles and fully aquatic marine reptiles.

Bathysaurus was a small reptile, with an estimated length of around 1.5 meters. It had a streamlined body, similar to that of modern marine reptiles, and was likely adapted for a semi-aquatic lifestyle.
