Basefaciliteter, or base facilities, refer to the core infrastructure and services that support the operation of a base or installation. They encompass the built environment as well as utilities and services required for daily occupancy, work, and safety.

Common components include permanent buildings such as living quarters, offices, workshops, and storage; utility systems including power generation and distribution, water supply, wastewater treatment, and heating and cooling; communications and information technology; transportation and access infrastructure; and provisioning services such as food service and logistics. Health, safety, and security facilities, including medical rooms, fire protection, alarm systems, and fencing, are also integral. In marine, space, or remote settings, specialized facilities such as helidecks, landing pads, offshore platforms, or containment areas may be included.

Different contexts prioritize base facilities differently. Military bases emphasize reliability, resilience, and survivability; research stations focus on laboratories, environmental controls, and containment; remote industrial camps emphasize temporary housing and bulk storage; offshore and space bases stress redundant power and life-support systems.

Planning and operation involve design standards, zoning, energy efficiency, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Facilities management covers maintenance, asset management, and upgrade planning across the lifecycle of the base. Modern bases increasingly employ smart building technologies, modular construction, and sustainable energy sources to reduce downtime and environmental impact.
