Bankartrekonstrukció

Bankartrekonstrukció refers to a surgical procedure aimed at repairing a Bankart lesion, which is a tear in the labrum of the shoulder socket. The labrum is a ring of cartilage that deepens the socket, providing stability to the shoulder joint. A Bankart lesion typically occurs when the shoulder dislocates, often anteriorly, and the detached labrum pulls away from the glenoid rim. This injury can lead to recurrent shoulder instability, pain, and a feeling of apprehension or giving way.

The surgical goal of Bankartrekonstrukció is to reattach the torn labrum to its original position on the glenoid bone. This is most commonly performed arthroscopically, a minimally invasive technique that involves small incisions and the use of a camera and specialized instruments. During the procedure, the surgeon will identify the torn labrum and use sutures anchored to the bone to secure it back in place. In some cases, particularly if there is associated bone loss from the glenoid rim, a bone graft may be incorporated.

Recovery after Bankartrekonstrukció involves a period of immobilization, typically in a sling, followed by a structured physical therapy program. The rehabilitation process is crucial for regaining range of motion, strength, and stability in the shoulder. The success of the surgery and the patient's return to normal activities depend on various factors, including the extent of the tear, the patient's overall health, and adherence to the rehabilitation protocol. Complications, though rare, can include stiffness, persistent instability, or infection.
