Balvenies

Balvenie is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky produced at The Balvenie distillery in Dufftown, Scotland. The distillery was founded in 1912 by William Grant and his son Charles Gordon. Balvenie is known for its traditional approach to whisky making, employing coopers to maintain casks and a dedicated malt master who oversees the entire process. The distillery uses its own on-site malting floor, a practice increasingly rare in the industry.

The range of Balvenie whiskies includes a variety of expressions, often distinguished by their age statements and cask finishes. Popular bottlings include the 12 Year Old DoubleWood, which is matured in two types of cask: American oak ex-bourbon barrels and European oak ex-sherry butts. Other core expressions include the 14 Year Old Caribbean Cask and the 21 Year Old Portwood. Limited edition releases and older age statements are also part of the Balvenie portfolio. The whisky is characterized by its rich, smooth, and complex flavour profile, often featuring notes of honey, vanilla, and fruit. The brand emphasizes its heritage and craftsmanship in its marketing.
