Baltit
Baltit Fort, also known as Qila Baltit, is a historic fortress in the Hunza Valley of Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. It sits on a rocky hill above the village of Baltit, near the town of Karimabad, and has long dominated the surrounding landscape. The fort was built about seven centuries ago by the local Balti people to serve as the residence of the Mir of Hunza and as a defensive stronghold for the valley.
Over the centuries, Baltit Fort was expanded and developed as the political center of the Hunza State.
