Ballastin

It is stored in dedicated ballast tanks with pumps, sensors, and control systems tied to the vessel's stability management plan. Proper sealing, corrosion inhibition, and leak monitoring are essential.

Safety and environmental considerations: Depending on the formulation, ballastin may pose chemical hazards to crew or marine ecosystems in the event of leakage. Procedures include containment barriers, spill response plans, regular tank inspections, and adherence to applicable maritime environmental regulations.
