Bakterieemia is a medical condition characterized by the presence of bacteria in the bloodstream. It can occur through various routes, including during dental procedures, surgical interventions, or through infections elsewhere in the body that spread into the circulation. While the body's immune system can often clear a small number of bacteria from the blood, persistent or overwhelming bacteremia can lead to serious complications.
