BRPF1
BRPF1, also known as Bromodomain and PHD finger-containing protein 1, is a protein encoded by the BRPF1 gene in humans. This gene is located on chromosome 11. BRPF1 is a component of the human MYST1 complex, a type of histone acetyltransferase (HAT). Histone acetyltransferases are enzymes that play a crucial role in regulating gene expression by acetylating histone proteins. Acetylation of histones can alter chromatin structure, making DNA more accessible for transcription.
The BRPF1 protein itself contains several functional domains, including a bromodomain and two plant homeodomain (PHD)
Dysregulation or mutations in BRPF1 have been implicated in certain diseases. For example, alterations in BRPF1
