The architecture of BIOSUEFIn centers on a BIOS compatibility layer that sits above a UEFI-native core. This layer provides legacy BIOS interrupts, drive access, and service calls while the core supplies UEFI boot services, drivers, and a modern driver model. The approach is intended to preserve backward compatibility for older operating systems while enabling newer features through UEFI, such as secure boot, modular drivers, and a graphical setup interface.

Key features associated with BIOSUEFIn include fast boot options, a unified boot manager, native support for GPT partitions alongside traditional MBR, and access to UEFI boot services and runtime services.
