BAFTAs

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) is a British charity and membership organization that promotes and supports the film, television and interactive media industries. Founded in 1947 as the British Film Academy, it broadened its remit to include television and other media and adopted its current name to reflect its expanded scope. BAFTA runs a program of events, education initiatives and international activities, including branches such as BAFTA Los Angeles.

BAFTA
Film
Awards

to
the

market

BAFTA
members

juries.
The
trophy
is
a
stylized
gold
mask
designed
by
Mitzi
Cunliffe.
The
ceremony
is
normally
held
in
London
and
is
among
the
most
prominent
events
in
the
global
film
awards
calendar.
Awards,
established
in
the
2000s,
celebrate
achievements
in
video
games
and
are
chosen
by
a
dedicated
BAFTA
Games
jury.
In
addition
to
awards,
BAFTA
carries
out
education
and
talent
development
programs
such
as
Breakthrough
Brits,
and
maintains
international
presence
through
programs
like
BAFTA
Los
Angeles
and
partnerships
with
industry
events.
